A clear example of an ACKS system in action is helpful.

I feel that way with a lot of RPG systems I've looked at. One of the most precious resources available within a rulebook is space and that limitation often leads to not enough examples to clearly illustrate a rule in enough varied situations to provide clarity. I think ACKS actually does a pretty good job of this in the core book, but as we're all human, I do also think there's a few small areas where I've had to seek external clarification on a rule as writ (most recently the one covering recovery of HP following treatment for Mortal Wounds). I'm relatively confident that the upcoming version will have covered a lot of the lessons learned since 2012 (and possibly even introduce some new ones) as this is the way of a living ruleset.

It's very understandable that not every aspect of a ruleset would have examples handy in the book.

That said, what I've seen of ACKS II is very promising with feedback readily accepted.
